Collaborating with national masters, intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and artists specialized in lacquer art, embroidery, wood carving, and brocade weaving, there are six series, each piece both practical and worth collecting.
National Lacquer Art Master · Yin Liping
“Melody of the Sea・Tea Table” is a work co-created with national lacquer art master Yin Liping. This piece relies on the intangible cultural heritage of lacquer craftsmanship to carry the thousand-year-old Eastern lacquer art culture. The tabletop is layered with blue-green and gold powder, blended through multiple layers and polished through dozens of ancient procedures. The gradient color resembles the glittering waves of the sea, and the mottled texture is like dense coral, creating the illusion that the sea can be touched within reach. The table body is made of high-transparency organic crystal molded in one piece, recreating the posture of rolling waves, with deep sea light and shadow spreading as light passes through. The work innovatively integrates intangible cultural heritage techniques with modern materials, breaking the inherent form of traditional tea tables, and combines the practical attributes of a tea table with artistic and collectible value. When tea vapor rises from the cup, the craftsmanship of intangible heritage, the serenity of tea rituals, and the romance of the deep sea are captured in a single tea table, encompassing endless leisurely imagination.
National Master of Embroidery · Jin Jiahong
‘Resting Dragonfly · Tea Table’ is a work co-created with embroidery master Jin Jiahong. The entire set of tea house furnishings is inspired by the complete life posture of a dragonfly, taking the classical poem line ‘A dragonfly lightly skims the water’ as the thematic foundation. It molds two types of dragonfly forms: the tea table represents a dragonfly in mid-flight with wings spread, while the tea chair represents a dragonfly at rest, perched calmly. Motion and stillness, light and texture, complement each other. The ancients favored the dragonfly’s elegant and leisurely aura, symbolizing smoothness, peace, and serenity, which perfectly aligns with contemporary people’s desire to brew tea in quiet reflection and escape the noise. High-clarity Acrylic shapes the wings in flight, while gold thread embroidery depicts the resting dragonfly, using two distinctly different crafts to create the natural poetry of ‘Resting Dragonfly’ in the tea study space.
Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritor of Wood Carving · Guo Hao
“Mountain View・Tea Table” is a work collaboratively created with the intangible cultural heritage woodcarving inheritor Guo Hao. This piece takes the spirit of Eastern landscape painting as its soul, condensing the natural grandeur of the “Sunlight on the Golden Mountain” scenery into the tea table. The tabletop is made of highly transparent organic crystal, with internal ice-crack textures resembling layered mountains, while the table legs incorporate the reflection shapes of continuous mountain ranges, strong and steady. The “Golden Mountain” ornament in one corner of the tabletop, with its golden texture, recreates the magnificent scene of sunlight shining on the mountain, serving both as a highlight for the space and a subtle design idea—when removed, a hidden wooden tray underneath is revealed, achieving a combination of function and aesthetics. The matching tea chairs deconstruct and recombine traditional seascape and river tranquility patterns, using intangible heritage woodcarving techniques to recreate the beautiful scene of “peaceful seas and clear rivers, harmonious times and abundant harvests,” allowing one to fully appreciate the spirit of Eastern mountains and rivers within the compact tea space.
Artist · Wang Fan
‘Rising Clouds Tea Table’ is an artistic tea furniture piece created by artist Wang Fan. The name ‘Rising Clouds’ is derived from the inscription on Taihu stones by Emperor Qianlong, rooted in the traditional Chinese stone appreciation culture and the Eastern philosophy of ‘stone as the root of clouds.’ Ancient people believed that mountains and stones contained the essence of clouds. The work uses stone and cloud as symbols, merging the three refined Eastern pleasures of stone viewing, cloud watching, and tea tasting. The small tea table carries the elegant mindset of literati expressing their sentiments through landscapes. The base of the tea table is inspired by the slender and rugged artistic form of natural Taihu stones, with a hollow design that is lively and upright, like a cloud root supporting the flowing cloud tabletop. The tabletop takes inspiration from the colorful and dreamy sea of clouds, employing art copper coloring techniques to create a gradient of blue, green, and purple cloud tones. The surface is overlaid with a three-dimensional gilded texture, resembling spots of sunlight scattered through cloud gaps, interweaving reality and void, capturing the poetic and dreamy imagery of drifting clouds over stone on the tea table.
Artist · Yan Linfang
“Butterfly Shadow · Tea Table” is a work co-created with artist Yan Linfang. “Lingering butterflies dance from time to time,” butterflies have long been symbols of freedom, vitality, and poetic elegance in Eastern aesthetics. The entire series centers on the butterfly as its core image, transforming the posture and wing patterns of butterflies in paintings into tactile artistic tea furniture. The legs of the tea table resemble butterflies gracefully taking flight, with lines that are extended and light; the tabletop captures the abstract textures of butterfly wings, transparent and clear, dreamlike and ethereal. The matching tea chair backs subtly reveal butterfly shadows in flight, resonating with the tea table; the colors and textures of paintings are woven into the chair’s fabric, creating an artful seat that invites immersive experience. The whole tea table set infuses the tea and study room with the free posture of butterflies, allowing tea drinking, reading, or elegant gatherings to be immersed in a unique artistic ambiance.
National Gift Master · Li Jialin
‘A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains · Tea Table’ is a collaborative work created with national gift master Li Jialin. The inspiration for this piece comes from the only surviving national treasure by Northern Song dynasty painter Wang Ximeng, ‘A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains.’ It transforms the artistic pinnacle of traditional Chinese blue-and-green landscape painting into contemporary Eastern lifestyle aesthetic objects. The artistic weaving technique within the tea table accurately reproduces the blue-green layers and the landscape contours of the ancient painting. The entire piece is meticulously crafted with 65,000 strands of fine mulberry silk threads, woven together 379 million times, producing a unique luster from certain angles. The transparency of the high-clearity organic crystal makes the landscape appear to float on the table. Additionally, a bronze mountain emerges from the ancient painting on one side, making every tea-drinking experience a dialogue with millennia-old landscapes. Sitting at the tea table feels like wandering within the painting.
